Huang Chi

Ms. Huang Chi is Professor and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at CUIT. She holds professional membership of Sichuan Foreign Languages and Literature Teaching Steering Committee and Sichuan Higher Education Foreign Languages Research Committee. She is also the deputy director of Sichuan Cognitive Linguistics Association. She gained diplomas from Sichuan International Studies University and Sichuan University, then she went for advanced study at Western Oregon University in the USA. She has undertaken courses at both graduate and postgraduate levels, including College English, General English for non-English postgraduates, Comprehensive English, Advanced English, English Literature, Biblical Literature, Women’s Literature, Selected Readings of Shakespeare’s Plays, etc.

Ms. Huang’s research centers on English and American literature and culture, women’s literature and cross-culture communication. She has published six monographs and compilations and over 30 academic articles on a series of domestic and international renowned journals. She presided above ten scientific research and teaching reform programs, including projects funded by Sichuan Federation of Social Science and projects of China’s Foreign Language Education Fund supported by the Ministry of Education. Her teaching achievements have won top prizes several times at the university. At present, she is presiding a key research project supported by Sichuan Federation of Social Science and a pilot project in line with Sichuan new liberal disciplines development. Besides, she is currently presiding a provincial ideology model course “College English 3: English for Intercultural Communication”, and a provincial first-class course “American Literature”.

Prior to her role at CUIT, Ms. Huang worked as chief of English major faculty and deputy director of science and technology division at Panzhihua University. After transferring to CUIT, she worked as chief of College English faculty, assistant dean and vice dean of the school. Up to now, she is in charge of the school’s overall administrative work, and also postgraduate teaching, disciplines development, teaching staff building, financing management, international exams arrangement, international communication and cooperation etc.
