The Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI )Admission Seminar was held by the School of Foreign Languages on October 12th, 2024 in classroom H1101,which aimed to enhance students’ understanding of MTI and provide guidance and help for students who are interested in applying for MTI.
Professor Tan Jie, Head of Translation Department, first introduced the history of the School of Foreign Languages, the teaching staff as well as the teaching and research achievements in recent years. He stressed that the School of Foreign Languages has a team of teachers with high academic qualifications and rich teaching experience. With advanced practical training resources and school-enterprise cooperation mode, the School can provide high-quality teaching and practice environment for MTI students.
When talking about the admission details of the MTI program, Professor Tan elaborated on the cultivation objectives, professional directions and plans, advantages and characteristics. He mentioned that the School focuses on cultivating high-level translation talents with international vision and patriotic feelings. In addition, the School has also established internship bases in cooperation with a number of enterprises, providing students with rich opportunities for practice.
Then Prof. Tan introduced the information of registration requirements, tuition fees and registration procedures. He encouraged students to actively apply for the examination and lay a solid foundation for their future development.
Finally,Prof. Huang Chi, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, exchanged views with the students. She said that the school attaches great importance to the construction and development of the MTI program, and will continue to optimize the curriculum and teaching mode, improve the teaching quality, and provide students with a better platform for learning and development. At the same time, she also hopes that the students can cherish this opportunity and strive for excellent achievements in their future translation career.
This seminar not only gave the students a more comprehensive understanding of the MTI enrolment of the School, but also stimulated their enthusiasm and confidence in applying for MTI.
