At 2:30 p.m. on March 13, 2025, a lecture was held in Room 2102 of the Hangkonggang Campus to help students prepare for the 30th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition. Ms. Wu Qian from the School of Foreign Languages introduced the competition and gave some suggestions on how to prepare for the English speech contest.
In the lecture, Ms. Wu first introduced the basic information about the "21st Century Cup" English Speaking Competition and then gave specific suggestions on the writing and delivery of the speech. She stressed that speech content should be clear, well-organized and structured. Furthermore, Ms. Wu analyzed the prepared speech topic to inspire students to think critically. She also used a speech video of a previous champion as an example to demonstrate effective writing methods and presentation techniques.
This lecture not only helped students to have a deeper understanding of English speaking competitions and preparation strategies, but also guided students to pay attention to social hot topics and have a global vision and social responsibility. The holding of this competition also further promoted the concept of "promoting learning through competition" of the School of Foreign Languages, and created a strong English learning atmosphere for the school, helping to cultivate versatile talents with both language literacy and innovation ability.
