School of Foreign Languages Hosts Insightful Lectures for International Education Week

On November 5th, 2025, the School of Foreign Languages, in collaboration with the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, hosted two engaging lectures for International Education Week in classroom 2102 at the Hangkonggang Campus.

The first lecture commenced at 3:30 p.m. with Ms. Raquel Ramirez, Vice-President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and Chairwoman of the EU Chamber of Commerce Southwest China. Under the theme “Connect, Communicate, Conquer: The Soft Skills for Leadership and Life”, Ms. Ramirez shared her professional expertise and profound insights accumulated over more than two decades in the fields of diplomacy and business, offering valuable strategies for personal and professional development. During the interactive session, attendees appreciated how the lecture provided both strategic international perspectives and practical methods for their professional development and future cross-cultural engagements.

Following this, at 4:30 p.m., Ms. Xu Ting from the School of Foreign Languages presented on “Redefining Overseas Education: From ‘Getting into Elite Schools’ to ‘Succeeding in the Future’”. Utilizing rich video materials, she provided students with an immersive look into academic and daily life at British and American universities. Drawing from her personal overseas study experience and interdisciplinary background, Ms. Xu emphasized that studying abroad extends beyond prestigious admissions. It is a crucial process for broadening global perspectives and enhancing cross-cultural competencies. She encouraged students to cultivate "integrated thinking" to transcend disciplinary boundaries.


Both lectures featured dynamic interaction and rich case studies, providing students with global insights and practical guidance for planning their future academic and career paths.
