To celebrate the 24 Solar Terms, an essential part of Chinese culture, and to foster cross-cultural dialogue and environmental awareness among Chinese and international youth, the English Corner event themed "Spring Equinox and Green" was successfully held in Classroom 4104 at the Airport Campus from 14:00 to 15:00 on March 19, 2026. Organized by the Foreign Language Club, the event invited seven international guests, including foreign teachers and international students, to join local students in using English as a medium to explore the cultural significance of the Spring Equinox and share ideas on ecological protection.
The event began with the host introducing the cultural connotations of the Spring Equinox and its ecological relevance in spring, setting the stage for the discussion that followed. Participants then split into groups for lively conversations on topics such as Spring Equinox traditions, ecological protection, and low-carbon living. The atmosphere was relaxed and engaging, with Chinese and international youth actively interacting and exchanging perspectives, deepening their understanding of solar term culture and environmental responsibility.

After the discussion, group representatives took turns sharing their insights. Deng Hongxin delivered a concise and powerful message: "Turn off the light to save electric energy," encouraging everyone to start with small actions like switching off lights to embrace a low-carbon lifestyle and contribute to environmental protection. International guests also shared environmental practices and sustainability tips from their home countries, adding valuable perspectives to the conversation.

By integrating language learning, traditional culture, and environmental education, this English Corner event provided students with a valuable opportunity to practice English while promoting cross-cultural exchange and reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship. Future events will continue to explore diverse themes, building bridges for communication and inspiring young people to take concrete action in preserving our green home.
