Faculty and Students of School of Foreign Languages Provided Foreign Affairs Services for Multinational Diplomatic and Consular Corps

From April 2 to 4, Huang Chi, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and faculty member Xu Ting led a team of student volunteers (Dong Wenji, Cai Jinshan, Huang Yuan, and Xie Zijun) to Dujiangyan City. They participated in the Embassy and Consular Officers Discovering Tour to Dujiangyan and the 2026 International Water Releasing Festival, assisting the Foreign Affairs Office of Dujiangyan City with a range of foreign affairs services.


During the event, the volunteers received more than 50 diplomatic envoys and consuls general from 16 countries including Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain. They accompanied the foreign guests to the main venue of the 2026 International Water Releasing Festival, the Tianfu Precious Water Industrial Park, the Dujiangyan Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, characteristic tea gardens and Mount Qingcheng Scenic Area, where the guests experienced firsthand the ecological endowment, cultural heritage and industrial vitality of the Land of Abundance.


Through the event, the student volunteers fully leveraged their foreign language expertise and provided professional and meticulous services in accompanying the guests, facilitating communication, and coordinating activities. They contributed to China’s foreign affairs exchanges with concrete actions and helped tell China’s stories effectively, while also demonstrating their solid professional competence and positive attitude. This volunteer service received unanimous praise from both the foreign guests and the staff of the Foreign Affairs Office, opening up a new chapter for our students to engage in high-level foreign affairs internships and practical activities.
