Deng Yuan, instructor, received her Ph.D. from the joint doctoral program between Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Sichuan Normal University and obtained her master’s degree from Sichuan International Studies University. Her research interests lie in English pedagogy, education economics and economics of language – particularly the market return of college graduates’ job skills, the return of English language skills of labor force, and the construction and evaluation of disciplines in higher education. She teachesAdvanced English, English Writing, English Teaching Methodology and Readings in Science and Technology. She has won the “Outstanding Instructor Award” in 21st Century National College English Speech Contest in 2019, and the “Outstanding Instructor Award” in College Student English Contest in 2020 and 2021. She was also awarded with the 3rd CUIT Teaching Quality Award and the 2020 School-level Excellent Teacher. She has published more than 10 academic papers, including four CSSCI papers. She presides over one project funded by Foreign Language Literature Research Center and provides guidance in two college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
